making a roblox avatar item

Now that I’ve learned a little blender I figured I would give it a try. Roblox studio is surprisingly similar to blender. Avatar items are what they call their accessories And they can be sold in the marketplace for within an experience

When you have roblox studio installed open a new experience this takes you to a new base plate

In the lower left section of the screen find the Drop Down that shows the word models and Choose plugins from the Drop Down list

Search for asset creator plugin, The icon is a little blue wizard hat, Install that

In the next tab inventory, my plugins, choose asset creator

…..

In the top menu and roblox studio choose avatar, rig builder, The icon looks like a little armature

In the pop-up generate rig make your choices I chose block Avatar

With the rig selected, In the lower right section properties transform position…. For me 040 Stood perfectly on the base plate

File advanced export to Obj

….

Now you can bring that into blender put whatever you want on it exported as an OBJ and I’m bored it back in to Roblox Studio

I found to then delete the rig that it imported back in with And it believes your accessory on that layer,

and then use the generate rig again so that it’s a fresh rig with armature and whatever, with your accessory positioned just right but on its own

now use the asset creator plug-in

It’s very expensive to publish on roblox, You have to be a subscribed premium member in order for your things to stay in the catalog, When you get to the publishing stage you have to pay a 1000 robux Which is basically $10 to get pre published and then when you get your item ready and you want to actually publish it you K 750 robux for them to check it, Mine was not perfect and it got approved so I don’t think there’s a real high bar there. Once published there is no way to edit it, You have to just pull that item and publish again and yes pay again. If you’ve given anyone a link to your object that link is now bunk and you’ll have to share the link to the new object.

I solve this by using bitly for a few of them but you only get like 3 before you have to pay so clever but… Anyway the idea is that you could just change out the link if you update your item and your bittly states the same.
